2024 Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarship Program Now Open

Part of the WTS goal of fostering the development of women in the transportation field is achieved by encouraging new professionals to careers in transportation. WTS Central Florida Chapter is accepting applications for six scholarships. Applications are due March 18, 2024. WTS International also offers six scholarships for which each chapter nominates one person in each category. Winners of local WTS Central Florida Chapter-funded awards will be submitted as our applicants for WTS International Scholarships. The categories are:

Frankee Hellinger Graduate Scholarship $3,500
Frankee Hellinger Leadership Graduate Scholarship $2,000
Frankee Hellinger Undergraduate Scholarship $2,500
Frankee Hellinger Leadership Undergraduate Scholarship $2,000
Junior College/Trade School Scholarship $1,500
Transportation YOU High School Scholarship $1,000

The WTS International scholarships are awarded to women who demonstrate leadership skills, ability, and interest. The general criteria for the scholarships are:

Open to women
GPA of 3.0 or higher
Plan to pursue a career in transportation-related field for college/trade school applicants
Students must either have a permanent address or attend school within Central Florida, which is considered Alachua, Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Flagler, Polk, Seminole, Marion, Sumter, Union, and Volusia Counties

Scholarship applications are due by March 18, 2024, 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. The specific award criteria are included in each application below:
