Thousands of supporters of President Donald Trump attended rallies in Washington, DC on Saturday to support his efforts to overturn the results of the presidential election.

Police have arrested at least six people so far during post-election protests on Saturday in Washington, according to the DC Metropolitan Police Department's public affairs office.

Large groups of "Stop the Steal" protesters and counter-protesters have gathered outside the Supreme Court and at Freedom Plaza to protest the presidential election results. Most individuals were not wearing masks.

Videos circulating on social media show scuffles and small fights that have broken out sporadically, but so far the large gatherings have been mostly peaceful.

Another rally on the National Mall called the "Jericho March" was described on its website as a prayer rally with speakers praying for the "walls of corruption and election fraud to fall down."

The rallies are intended as a show of support just two days before electors meet in their states to cast electoral college votes.

Michael Flynn, former White House Security Advisor recently granted a pardon by President Trump, spoke at the Jericho March. This was his first public appearance since he was pardoned by Trump, according to the Hill.

As he spoke, Trump flew overhead on Marine One on his way out of town for the Army-Navy football game in West Point, NY. Crowds cheered for the president as he flew by.

Trump tweeted his apparent surprise this morning at the rallies, saying "Wow! Thousands of people forming in Washington for stop the steal. Didn't know about this, but I'll be seeing them."

Religious leaders led prayers and sang songs, calling for Trump victory. On the Jericho March website, organizers said the rally was intended to be peaceful.

"We will march around the U.S. Capitol seven times to send a very clear message to national and state leaders as they hear patriots and people of faith roar in support of election integrity, transparency, and reform," Jericho March's website says.
