Pressure sensitive wrap around labelers for plastic or glass vials

WLS wrap around labelers are used throughout the pharmaceutical industry to label round plastic or glass vials with wraparound labels. These vials typically hold injectable products such as vaccines. The labels can be serialized and inspected prior to application. WLS coders are used throughout the pharmaceutical industry to print human-readable and/or UV codes with ink jet or lasers onto the vials cap, crimp area or body. Ensuring strict safety standards are met while maintaining production rates is a priority at Weiler. Using innovative technology and advanced machinery, labeling vials with wraparound labels is quick and precise. The VR-72 is designed to label round plastic or glass bottles with wraparound labels at speeds up to 900ppm.

This machine is used for the application of a film or paper pressure sensitive label onto vials for drugs or vaccines. This in-line wrap around labeler combines a modular platform with a breakthrough vertical roller track design that references the container sidewall for consistent and precise label application combined with continuous web dispensing via vacuum drum label application. Features on the VR include fast changeovers, ease of operation and HMI-based recipe controls.

This machine is designed to be configured with a variety of options such as removable rollers for quick container size and pitch changes, single or redundant label heads, label coding and inspection including serialized codes, integrated feeding systems, and more. Using the WLS patented Reconciler, the VR can remove, count, and rewind rejected labels prior to their application onto a container. Featuring an enhanced-zero-access guarding package and meeting the most stringent safety standards, this machine can be used for a wide range of product sizes.

Weiler also offers coding systems for applications on vials. The VCV is used to print a code at speeds up to 300ppm. This vial coding and verification platform is specifically designed for high-speed and accurate coding of unlabeled vials. Using its own PLC and separately validated controls, the VCV can be integrated within an existing packaging line or run as a stand-alone machine. Ink jets or laser printers can be used to print/scribe alphanumeric human-readable and/or 2D Data Matrix codes to various areas of the vials.

Additional features on the VCV include serialized codes, placement accuracy, code verification using digital vision systems, track and reject system, and more. The VCV-MD is similar to the VCV with a higher speed, above 400ppm. This machine is a precise vial coder, featuring product identification and traceability before labeling, high speeds, multi-dial capabilities, easy integration within an existing packaging line or used as a stand-alone unit, and track and reject functions.
