The U.S. is consistently logging more than 200,000 new cases of coronavirus each day as the pandemic continues to surge across the country. This week the Food and Drug Administration is set to consider emergency-use authorization for a vaccine against the disease, however, which could provide relief next year.

Here & Now's Tonya Mosley speaks with Dr. Tom Inglesby, director of the Center for Health Security at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

This segment aired on December 7, 2020.
