NBA star LeBron James says President Trump doesn’t “give a fuck” about Americans.
“The No. 1 job in America … is someone who doesn’t understand the people, and really don’t give a fuck about the people,” James said in a video recorded last month with ESPN’s Cari Champion and fellow NBA player Kevin Durant.
The video was filmed as Trump had come under scrutiny for reportedly referring to some countries as “shithole countries,” prompting Champion to address Trump’s “racist comments.”
“It’s not even a surprise when he says something,” James said. “It’s like, laughable. It’s laughable and it’s scary.”
“While we cannot change what comes out of that man’s mouth, we can continue to alert the people that watch us, that listen to us that this is not the way,” he added.
James has made his disapproval for Trump well known. Last year, when Trump railed against NFL players who knelt during the national anthem, Trump also rescinded Golden State Warriors player Stephen Curry’s invitation to the White House.
In response, James said it was no longer an honor to visit the White House with Trump in office.
“U bum @stephencurry30 already said he ain’t going! So therefore ain’t no invite,” James tweeted. “Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!”
