Chaquis Maliq’s sound is a fusion of alternative blues, folk, and soul, but authentically singing, playing the acoustic guitar, playing the Cajon, and utilizing foot instruments; without any looping, simultaneously, defining the EccentroSoul 1 Woman Band.

Handpicked by NPR Music for the Tiny Desk on the Road Tour 2017, as a Charleston Favorite to warm up the stage for the Winner, Tank and the Bangas, which resulted in NPR Music comparing Maliq’s performance to Prince (Stripped Down), “Soulful, Slightly – Prince-Like.”  “One talented ball of creative fire” – Festival of Friends, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
