Electricity provider Sonoma Clean Power is accepting applications for its Community Advisory Committee through June 1.

If you are interested in climate change, renewable energy, and utility issues and are a customer of Sonoma Clean Power, then you are invited to apply by June 1 to join SCP’s Community Advisory Committee.

SCP is Mendocino and Sonoma Counties’ default not-for-profit electricity provider and is actively engaged in addressing the climate crisis through clean energy. SCP provides electricity that is 49 percent renewable and 93 percent carbon-free. SCP also offers customers the option to purchase 100 percent renewable electricity made from local geothermal and solar resources through its EverGreen service.

The Community Advisory Committee is a group of volunteers representing communities in Mendocino and Sonoma counties that are served by SCP. Committee members meet monthly to make recommendations and provide feedback to the agency’s board of directors on topics including budgets, rates, operations and programs. Members serve four-year terms following appointment by the SCP Board of Directors.
