October 1, 2021 Starting Date for New Leadership

October 6, 2021

Dear iCERT Members:

It’s exciting to welcome the next chapter for iCERT!

As you know, on August 26th, iCERT announced that George Kelemen was selected to be our next Executive Director, succeeding Kim Robert Scovill. After a smooth and effective transition, George officially assumed his new role on October 1st. Additionally, Kim has transitioned into a Director Emeritus role where he will continue to work with George and the iCERT membership for 2021.

George comes to iCERT after nearly six years as President & CEO of the Texas Retailers Association (TRA). He returns to the national association landscape, where he spent over a decade prior to his move to Texas in senior leadership positions for several of the most influential associations in America, including the Airports Council International – North America and AARP. He brings extensive association management experience, as well as legislative and regulatory advocacy expertise, to iCERT. We are confident George has the skills and enthusiasm to take iCERT to the next level, growing the organization both in membership and influence.

I would also like to thank Kim for his tireless efforts over the last 3+ years. Not only has Kim been a pleasure to work with, but he has also grown the organization and created a stable and strong foundation for iCERT’s continued success. We’re pleased he has agreed to stay on to assist George.

George has already been in direct contact with many of iCERT’s members and will continue to set a strong pace with new passion for, confidence in, and commitment to iCERT and our industry. iCERT’s future is bright and I’m confident that with your help, and George’s leadership, iCERT will reach its full potential.

Please join me in welcoming iCERT’s new Executive Director, George Kelemen.

Sincerely,

Eric

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dear iCERT Members and Friends-

The Industry Council for Emergency Response Technologies, Inc. (iCERT), the nation’s only trade association composed exclusively of commercial public safety technology and response organizations, has selected George Kelemen as its next Executive Director. George will succeed Kim Robert Scovill, who has held the post since 2018.

Kelemen will lead iCERT after six years as President & CEO of the Texas Retailers Association (TRA). He returns to the national association landscape, having spent 11 years prior to TRA in senior leadership positions for several of the most influential associations in America, including the Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA) and AARP. Kelemen also brings extensive management experience, legislative, and regulatory advocacy expertise to his new role.

After serving iCERT for more than 3-years, supervising a ground-up reorganization, and shepherding record-setting growth, Kim asked the Board to transition to a support role, and to lead the search for a new Executive Director. “Kim’s remarkable contributions to iCERT set the stage for our continued success,” noted Eric Hagerson, iCERT’s Chairman, “and we’re looking forward to George setting the pace with new enthusiasm and commitment.”

“I am honored to be joining iCERT as its next Executive Director,” Mr., Kelemen echoed, ”iCERT represents the critical industrial sector of public safety technology, an area of vital importance to all Citizens, and I look forward to continuing our growth, and continuing to increase our relevance in and support of public safety.”

Mr. Kelemen’s appointment is effective October 1, 2021. PRESS RELEASE

To All iCERT Members and Friends:

Wanted you to receive this news directly from me.

The past three years have gone by so quickly in service to our exceptional iCERT Family and organization. Reflect for just a moment on how much we have accomplished over that time, and how close we are to our bedrock goal of establishing a fully funded national NG911 program – an industry-wide initiative led, in very large measure, by iCERT. These, and more, are among the proudest accomplishments of my career.

However, as with all things, the time has come to turn the page and move forward. Much remains undone. I am excited to announce the iCERT Board’s selection of George Kelemen, Austin, TX, as the next Executive Director of the Industry Council for Emergency Response Technologies, Inc.

This is the most exciting time in iCERT’s history, as we move into our next phase of growth and success. Please provide your thoughts regarding and support for George’s transition - effective date of October 1, 2021. All ideas welcome. Full details are in our press release posted on the website.

Oh, before I forget – while there is a new driver on the bus, I am not abandoning my commitment. I’ll still be around for a few months to keep the light on for wandering iCERT Members who get lost along the way. As I always say – “stay safe – be kind”, and thank you, my friends.

Sincerely,

Kim Robert Scovill, Esq.

Executive Director - iCERT
