The Minnesota Golden Gophers (5-7) have a date with the Bowling Green Falcons (7-5) in the Quick Lane Bowl on Tuesday, Dec. 26, in Detroit, Michigan. Ford Field is practically a second home for the Gophers at this point, as this will be the program’s third trip to the Quick Lane Bowl in the last 10 years. Minnesota first defeated Central Michigan, 21-14, in the 2015 Quick Lane Bowl, having earned a bowl invite in spite of a 5-7 regular season record. They returned to the Motor City in 2018 under head coach P.J. Fleck, rolling past Georgia Tech, 34-10.

The game will kick off at 1 p.m. CT and be televised on ESPN.

Bowling Green started the season 2-4 but rallied to win five of their last six games to finish third in the MAC East this season. The Falcons split a pair of non-conference games against Power 5 opponents, with a 31-6 loss to Michigan and a 38-27 win over Georgia Tech.

The Gophers will be looking to avenge a 14-10 loss at home to Bowling Green in 2021. The Falcons entered that game as 30.5-point underdogs, and the loss snapped Minnesota’s streak of 21 straight non-conference wins.
