JOB DESCRIPTION: | Primary Purpose:
- Provide leadership in the area of Career and Technical Education (CTE)
- Provide leadership and support to the Carl Perkins Shared Service Arrangement (SSA) districts
- Provide research-based innovative professional learning and technical assistance to LEAs in the area(s) of Career and Technical Education (CTE)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: | Education/Certifications:
- Current Texas State Teaching Certification
- Current Texas State CTE Certification (preferred)
- Master's Degree in an education-related field (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of college and career readiness
- Knowledge of best practice in CTE programming, CTE certification and licensure, CTE instruction, and CTE funding and spending in relation to HB3
- Knowledge of HB5, high school graduation requirements
- Knowledge of Carl Perkins grants and requirements

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: | Responsibilities and Duties Common to all Region 10 ESC Employees:
- Ability to work on and enhance a team
- Utilize time wisely for effective management of position responsibilities and to ensure timelines are met
- Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings
- Maintain a positive, customer-friendly, and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal)
- Participate as an effective team member who contributes to center-wide strategic planning goals
- Display proficient levels of technology applications and remain current in the area of digital integration
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by Region 10 Leadership
- Prepare and organize resources, train, and collaborate with Region 10 personnel
- Exhibit initiative in identifying problems and suggesting solutions in a positive manner
- Exhibit good judgment and decision making
- Keep supervisor informed of program and district needs
- Maintain up-to-date entries in Region 10 databases and accurate records for tracking and invoicing
- Adhere to Center procedures, guidelines, and policies
Specific Responsibilities and Duties for the CTE Consultant
- Provide support and leadership to LEAs in the area of Career and Technical Education (CTE) and HB5
- Develop and provide professional learning opportunities in CTE
- Develop and provide content-rich learning opportunities through a variety of learning modes including but not limited to webinars, blended learning, face-to-face, and web-based technologies
- Assist with supporting LEAs in areas including Methods of Administration and Results Driven Accountability
- Fulfill responsibilities outlined in state and federal grants, including Carl D. Perkins grants
- Partner with industry-based organizations and institutions
- Plan, facilitate, or coordinate institutes, conferences, or speakers
- Seek on-going development of professional skills as appropriate to the job assignment
- Maintain strong knowledge of evidence-based practices and current research
- Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to assist administrators and teachers in serving students with diverse needs
- Create and provide professional learning opportunities using a variety of delivery methods
- Demonstrate effective coaching, mentoring, problem-solving and conferencing skills
- Assist with the implementation of statewide initiatives and/or directives
- Coordination and implementation of grant deliverables and objectives

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: |
- Experience with designing, leading, and providing staff learning
- Five or more years of experience teaching
- Experience working with at-risk students
Accountability:
- The CTE Consultant shall be directly accountable to the Program Coordinator of Teaching and Learning or his/her designee.
