Recovery Owned and/or Operated Businesses
The DHHR WV Office of Drug Control Policy
The purpose of this 5 minute survey is to determine how many recovery owned and/or operated businesses exist in West Virginia, with the intent of increasing this business model by 10% annually during the implementation of the West Virginia 2020-2022 Substance Use Response Plan.
For the purpose of the survey, please keep in mind the following definitions:
A substance use disorder is defined as the recurrent use of alcohol and/or drugs that causes clinically significant impairment, including health problems, disability, and failure to meet major responsibilities at work, school, or home.
Recoveryis defined by SAMHSA as, a process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and strive to reach their full potential.
A recovery owned and/or operated business is any business that is owned or operated by an individual or individuals who self-identify as having a substance use disorder and who disclose they are living in recovery.
