Textbook Assistance
The Ackerman Center is currently accepting applications to award microgrants for student support. Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a Holocaust or related course in the Fall 2020 semester are eligible to apply.
Any student who needs assistance purchasing their textbooks for the Fall 2020 semester for the following courses should email holocauststudies@utdallas.edu with the courses in which they are enrolled.
- HIST 2370: "The Holocaust"
- HIST 4359: "Holocaust Memory in Latin America"
- HIST 4376: "Modern Genocides Past & Present"
- HIST 4388: "Topics in Holocaust History - Nazism, Ethics, and Culture"
- HIST 6342: "The Holocaust"
- HIST 7306: "Women in the Holocaust"
Graduate Research Assistance
If you fit into any of the following categories, please email holocauststudies@utdallas.edu with a brief one-page letter of request detailing where you are in your program, which books you need in the near future, and their estimated cost.
- Masters students finalizing a portfolio for defense in the Fall 2020 semester
- PhD students who are finished with all courses and are studying for field exams
- PhD candidates who are conducting research for their dissertation
If these funds are being requested for the Summer 2020 semester, please indicate that in your request so that we may expedite the application.
The deadline for applications is June 5, 2020.
- Applications must be received from your UTD email address.
- These grants will be awarded on a case-by-case basis and may vary.
- Funds will be awarded as a credit at the UT Dallas Bookstore.
- There may or may not be another round in the future.
