A Message From Your Business Librarian
I maintain the library research guides for all subject areas taught in the College of Business. On the welcome page of the tutorials, there are library tutorials specifically designed for the College of Business students. These guides can be found in Blackboard within each course by following the Library Research Guide link. The Library Research Guide link is placed in the grey column under the section labeled Campus Resources. If you have any suggestions on how to improve the guides, please reach our to you Business Librarian.
At this time, students may potentially make same day appointments with me to review the search options for an assignment. I can help identify relevant information and provide tips on how to apply the data. Appointments are scheduled on the welcome page of any research guide, and students attend online using the WebEx link found on the schedule appointment pop-up.
If you would like for me to visit your class to review the search options for an assignment, please let me know. I can either join your class on campus or online. Visits tend to last 15 to 20 minutes. However, I can provide a recording for your class instead. Recordings tend to be five minutes long.
Elsevier Negotiations
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the negotiations, please contact our University Library, Executive Director, Tim Gritten.

Publishing Opportunity with Cambridge University Press
We are excited to let you know about the new Read and Publish agreement that the University Library has just entered into with Cambridge University Press (CUP). What this agreement means is that our subscription to CUP journals also covers article processing charges (APCs) when you publish with them. Under the agreement, 100% of your APCs are covered. Now you can choose open access options with hundreds of CUP journals with no cost to you.
For example, some of the Computer Science journals in this agreement include:
Data & Policy
Journal of Functional Programming
Mathematical Structures in Computer Science
Natural Language Engineering
Network Science
Theory and Practice of Logic Programming)
There are just a few conditions that you need to consider before submitting. Your work must:
- Be original research – eligible article types are research articles, review articles, rapid communications, brief reports and case reports - click here for definitions
- Have a corresponding author affiliated with A&M-SA - click here for corresponding author definition
- Be accepted for publication in a Cambridge University Press journal as listed here - click here to view journals covered by the agreement
- Be accepted for publication between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2023
That's it! To take advantage of this program, just submit your articles through your CUP journal’s regular submission system, making sure to use Texas A&M University-San Antonio as your affiliation (this can be done with your ORCID ID, too). Once your article is accepted, you'll get additional instructions on how to take advantage of the Read and Publish agreement. If you have any questions or run into any obstacles during the process, please get in touch.
For more information on this and other publishing agreements, please see our Library Services for Faculty updates.
