Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first book I can remember reading was Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. My father used to read it to me all the time. As I got older, he would let me read some of it. After that I fell in love with fairy tales and science fiction. The first series of books I ever purchased on my own and read in completion was Harry Potter. I fell in love with the characters and the world J.K. Rowling created. As I got older, my taste in books grew spreading out into different genres, including romance novels. It was then I fell in love with with the characters of those stories. I wanted to be them. I wanted to live in their world. I have always been creative. Art and books go hand in hand for me. When I read Gabriel's Inferno, it sealed my fate. I knew what I wanted to do. I wanted to share the stories I had lingering around in my mind. I was going to become an author.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Only Five? My favorites in romance would be Carnage by Lesley Jones, Gabriel's Inferno by Sylvain Reynard, This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas, Torrent by Gemma James, and Archer's voice by Mia Sheridan.
I love Carnage. Lesley is an amazing writer. Her books are real and come to life with such clarity, it's amazing. Cameron King is delicious, and the way he loves so intensely makes my heart flutter. Gabriel's Inferno is a beautifully rich story. I love the way Dante's Inferno intertwines with Gabriel's life. He finds his Beatrice, but unlike Dante, he's able to keep her. This man is fast paced and incredibly well written. I would love to have a membership at the Manor with the Lord. Torrent is dark and twisted. Not all stories are fairy tales or sweet. Sometimes the darkness makes for the best story. Archer's voice is one of my favorite's because it demonstrates how love is blind. It's not judgmental. I love how Archer is able to overcome his disability. He doesn't let it define him. Instead, he defines how it affects him. It's very uplifting and empowering.
