June 5, 2024

The Round Robin history day, is where fourth-graders from Salisbury, Andover and Webster visit each town’s Historical Society.  All three will end in Salisbury where we provide drinks and cookies to go with the children’s lunches they bring.  This annual event dovetails with the statewide Grade 4 study of NH history. Our Cemetery Walk is a highlight. Ever thought about being a re enactor? Its fun! We could always use you.

Previous re enactors with the exception of Joe Schmidl, aka Moses Garland, far right who will be back!

Quilt Talk 6 pm

All are invited to hear Pamela Weeks speak on “New England Quilts and the Stories They Tell.”  The interesting program will take place in the Salisbury Town Hall at 6pm.  Guests are invited to bring one quilt for identification or to share its story.  This program is brought to you by the Salisbury Historical Society and NH Humanities to Go.

As usual, a brief business meeting will follow our program.

July

Reluctantly our annual July Barbecue has been discontinued this year. We find ourselves with a shortage of volunteers, who find themselves rather overextended filling other tasks in our Society.

OBJECTIVES Of THE SALISBURY HISTORICAL SOCIETY

To promote the interest in, and the understanding of, the history of the town of Salisbury in the State of New Hampshire.

To collect and preserve objects, facts and information of historical significance to the area, and to make them available to all who wish to examine them.

 Salisbury Historical Society  Incorporated 1966

ABOUT THE SOCIETY

Just over fifty seven years ago a small group of people saw fit to make arrangements to preserve the town hearst. From that effort grew a lively Historical Society.

In a short amount of time a Museum grew around it containing many historical objects and displays including an example of a country store and post office.

The Salisbury Historical Society owns the beautiful Baptist Meeting House where concerts and lectures are held as well as historical displays are show.
