Biography
Ty Kayam is Principal Corporate Counsel for Health & Life Sciences at Microsoft, where she advises product, engineering, and data science teams on legal issues related to the development of AI and other emerging technologies for the health and life sciences industries. In this role, she handles privacy and regulatory matters related to digital health and supports business teams in shaping Microsoft’s priorities and positions globally on health technology. Ty previously worked as counsel at Surescripts, a health technology company, where she focused on technology transactions, regulatory and privacy compliance, and product counseling. She started her career at a D.C. law firm in its healthcare practice group.
Ty is a frequent presenter on health technology law and has co-authored more than a dozen publications on topics at the intersection of health and technology. She currently holds leadership positions on the Health Information Technology committee of the American Health Law Association and the eHealth, Privacy, and Security group of the American Bar Association. Ty has a Master’s in Public Health from Tufts University and received her law degree from Northeastern University School of Law.
