When to go to an Urgent Care Center

Urgent Care Centers are a great option if you have a condition that requires care within 24 hours but isn’t life-threatening. Urgent care centers can bridge the gap when your condition or injury requires attention outside of your primary care physician’s regular office hours.

If you require immediate medical attention and you cannot get an appointment with your primary care physician (PCP), choosing an urgent care center close to you can also save you time and money as well as keeping the Emergency Room free to handle more serious situations.

If you are experiencing a life-threatening Emergency, go directly to the ER or dial 9-1-1 immediately. This page is intended for non-life and limb threatening emergencies only.

When urgent care can meet your needs:

  • Coughs, colds and sore throats
  • Earaches
  • Sinus infection
  • Fever or flu-like symptoms
  • Minor sprain
  • Minor cut or burns
  • Bladder infection
  • Yeast infection
  • Non-life-threatening allergic reactions
  • Mild asthma
  • Minor animal bites
  • Minor infections
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Auto accident injuries

If you feel your health concerns are more serious and you need a higher level of care, call 911 or locate the emergency room closest to you.
