2.    Fill out required information for purchase.
3.    Assign a skating participant to each admission ticket.
4.    Each skating participant must sign their own waiver. A legal guardian must sign a waiver for minors.

6.    After completing payment, a receipt will be emailed and a separate email will include a link to your reservation management page, that you can access at any time and will use to enter the facility.
7.    If you’re not able to assign skaters and complete your waivers at the time of purchase, you can return to your Reservation Management page later to complete them.
a.  You will receive two separate emails: One is your receipt and the second includes a link to your Reservation Management page, where you can assign the names of the skating participants and complete electronic waivers.
b.  After you have assigned the names of the skating participants, you can also forward the email with the link to the Reservation Management page to any skaters you have purchased tickets for who need to sign their own waivers or sign on behalf of their children.
8.    Once your waivers are completed, you will receive an email with a unique QR Code for each skating participant to use as their E-Ticket. You will show these codes at the Admission counter when arriving at the ice rink. NOTE: You will not receive your E-ticket(s) until you have completed the waiver(s).

Other FAQs

What size is the ice rink?

The rink is 5,000 sq. ft. with a max capacity of 155 skaters.

Will the rink be crowded?

Peak times are 5-8 p.m. and can be especially busy on weekends and during winter break for local schools. If you’d prefer to skate when it’s less crowded, the beginning and end of each day are typically a little less busy.

I don't want to skate, can I come watch?

Yes! There is no cost to come and watch. We have limited seating available for spectators and recommend you dress to stay warm.

Are there any age restrictions?

There is no age restriction, however, we do ask that anyone under the age of 12 be accompanied by an adult. We also have limited sizes for toddlers or youth with smaller feet - please see the answer to the question below regarding skate sizes for more information. Please note: Parents are not allowed to carry their children while skating, nor are baby/toddler strollers permitted on the ice.

What rental skate sizes are available?

Our skate sizes are as follows: 8-13 J and 1-15. We have a limited number of J sizes for our smallest skaters, and we do not have half sizes. Skate sizes are not necessarily equivalent to shoe size and skates fit differently on every child. If your child’s foot cannot securely fit in the available sizes, they will unfortunately not be allowed on the ice for safety reasons. Please ask on-site staff for sizing assistance. We encourage you to call or visit the rink in advance to understand the sizing and fit requirements prior to arriving at the rink with your child.

Can I wear my shoes on the ice?

No. Only ice skates are allowed on the ice.

Can I bring my own ice skates?

Yes, however, rental skates are included in the admission pricing, and there is no discount for using personal skates.

Do you sell skates at the rink or offer skate sharpening services?

We do not. Elevate Sporting and the Sprinker Pro Shop in Tacoma are the closest outlets that sell figure and hockey skates. They also have skate sharpening services.

Do you have hockey and figure skates available?

Yes, we offer both.

Are there hours available for recreational hockey?

No. Oly on Ice is not set up to accommodate ice hockey, recreational or otherwise. Hockey sticks or pucks are not allowed on the ice.

Do you offer skate aids for beginning skaters?

We have a limited number of skate aids that are available to rent and are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Is Oly on Ice ADA accessible?

We welcome all guests at Oly on Ice. Guests who utilize mobility aids or who otherwise might need support on the ice are able to skate with the assistance of ice rink staff. This is dependent on availability of staff and if it is determined it will be safe to do so. Please contact rink staff at olympia@icerinkevents.com to discuss your specific accessibility questions.

How should I dress when visiting the rink?

As you might expect, to ensure the ice stays frozen, it means it’s also cold under the tent! Please be sure to dress in layers so you’ll stay nice and warm, whether skating or just watching. Also, as condensation builds up in the rink, water does drip down from the tent structure above from time to time.

We recommend dressing in layers and wearing a hat and or raincoat with a hood to keep yourself nice and dry. We also recommend thick, crew-length socks to keep your feet comfortable while skating. We do not have helmets available, however, you are welcome to wear your own.

What do people do with their personal items while skating?

We have a limited number of open-front cubbies you are welcome to put your belongings in while you are skating. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items while visiting the rink, so please leave all valuables at home.

Will there be restrooms at the ice rink?

We have temporary restrooms available during the run of the ice rink.

Will there be any food or drink available?

We will have occasional food vendors on site during the season. Keep an eye on the event calendar for all vendors and special events. If you’re interested in being a food vendor at Oly on Ice, please contact lburns@ci.olympia.wa.us for more information. Food and drink are limited to the spectator area.
