A drunk and belligerent Johnny Depp wound up like a “baseball pitcher” and hurled a cell phone at his wife Amber Heard’s face during a violent meltdown two days before she filed for divorce, the actress claimed Friday.
Heard was sporting a red bruise on her right cheek when she appeared in a Los Angeles courthouse and won a temporary restraining order against the Oscar nominee she called “physically dangerous.”
She claimed Depp, 52, was “inebriated and high” when he went on a wild rampage inside their Los Angeles condominium Saturday night, battering her with the cell phone, pulling her hair, “violently grabbing” her face, smashing bottles of wine and vandalizing her painting studio.
The judge ordered Depp to stay at least 100 yards away from Heard but denied her request that he attend anger management courses and steer clear of her pet Yorkshire terrier Pistol.
A Depp source questioned whether Heard, who filed for divorce Monday, was physically injured but declined to comment on the record.
In an opposition filing Friday, Depp’s lawyer said Heard is “attempting to secure premature financial resolution by alleging abuse.”
Los Angeles police officers who responded to Heard’s condominium after the Saturday fight said she declined to file a report and provided no evidence of injury.
“Investigators determined a crime did not occur,” an LAPD spokesman told the Daily News.
Heard, 30, painted a different, much darker picture in her court declaration.
She said Depp has been verbally and physically “during the entirety of our relationship” and would detonate “whenever I questioned his authority or disagreed with him.”
She said he suffers from a “widely-acknowledged public and private history of drug and alcohol abuse” that feeds a “short fuse.”
She added that his temper is “exceptionally scary for me.”
Heard claimed he turned violent April 21 after he was a no-show at her birthday celebration. She said he returned home wasted as her guests were leaving and threw a magnum-sized bottle of champagne at the wall.
“Johnny then grabbed me by the shoulders and pushed me onto the bed, blocking the bedroom door. He then grabbed me by the hair and violently shoved me to the floor,” she claimed.
“After several minutes, Johnny stormed out of the condominium, but not before tossing aside and breaking nearly everything in his path,” she said.
Heard said she didn’t see her husband again for an entire month.
It wasn’t until he returned home Saturday, shortly after his mom died, that the couple had a chance to talk in person again, Heard said.
“At first, we were having a peaceful conversation in our living room, talking about his mother’s passing as I tried to comfort him while we sat on the couch. Suddenly, he began obsessing about something that was untrue and his demeanor changed dramatically. He became extremely angry,” Heard said.
The actress claimed she tried to calm Depp and even called her friend iO Tillet Wright “to prove his paranoid and irrational accusations about some delusional idea he was having” were wrong.
“Johnny then grabbed the cell phone, wound up his arm like a baseball pitcher and threw the cell phone at me striking my cheek and eye with great force,” she said.
Heard said she immediately covered her face and was crying in pain when Depp allegedly “charged” at her and “challenged” whether the phone actually hit her.
“He then forcibly pulled back my hair,” she said. “Johnny continued screaming at me, pulling my hair, striking me and violently grabbing my face,” she said.
Depp allegedly picked up a bottle of wine he had been drinking and started “swinging it around, smashing everything he could,” she said.
“I live in fear that Johnny will return to the Broadway residence unannounced to terrorize me, physically and emotionally,” she told the court.
She also asked for $50,000 a month in support claiming Depp had cut her off financially.
Depp’s lawyer opposed that request, suggesting the actress is alleging abuse to gain a financial advantage and deflect criticism over the fact she filed for divorce just three days after Depp’s mother Betty Sue Palmer died.
“Amber’s anger certainly cannot drive this dissolution proceeding,” Depp’s lawyer Laura Wasser wrote in her Friday filing.
Wasser said Depp was out of the country working in Spain but “has every intention of staying away from Amber.”
Depp asked the court Wednesday to deny Heard spousal support.
“She showed a lot of courage today,” Heard’s lawyer Samantha Spector said after the hearing.
“It’s been a rough few days. This is not something she wanted to do. She got pulled into it,” her other lawyer Joseph Koenig told The News.
