Digital Skills Academy

Looking for a new career in the digital sector or wishing to enhance your skills so you can advance your career in the digital sector?

NWSLC is pleased to announce that we have received funding from the West Midlands Combined Authority to support the establishment of an IT & Digital Training Academy in Coventry City Centre. The academy will be located at Coventry University Technology Park and will provide support to employers in addressing the digital skills gap in the region and inspire individuals towards a rewarding career in this growing sector.

The academy will offer a range of courses and apprenticeships, which will allow individuals to explore digital career opportunities and progress through a pathway of qualifications leading to apprenticeships and real-live job opportunities. We will be working closely with employers to ensure that our offer suits their requirements and supports them in filling vacancies with people with the right skill sets.

The Digital Training Academy expects to be offering its full range of courses in the near future.

The West Midlands is a key national centre for the tech and digital sector

Tech and digital is the fifth largest sector in the West Midlands economy, with nearly 14,000 tech and digital businesses in 2016, 5% of the national total and more than any other combined authority area in the country.

“Digital is vital to the continued success of the West Midlands economy because it is the golden thread across all industries that will provide jobs in the twenty-first century.” Andy Street, Mayor of the West Midlands.

The courses on offer will give you the opportunity to explore if a career in the digital sector is right for you. We can also provide you with courses to give you the right qualifications to get started in your career or advance your career if you are already employed in the digital sector.
