About the Role:

The purpose of the job is to contribute to the development and maintenance of collections management and information programmes, including documentation, inventory, storage and digital access.  The post will involve maintaining the collections management database and developing and providing ongoing guidance relating to cataloguing standards

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

Qualification at degree level

Recognised post graduate qualification in museum or archives practice or equivalent practical experience

The postholder is able to demonstrate:

Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft applications and databases

Demonstrable experience of working with museum documentation systems and computerised inventories

Experience of collections management procedures and demonstrable understanding of museum documentation terminology

Experience of digital imaging

Meticulous attention to detail with an ability to work accurately whilst meeting deadlines.

Able to write clear detailed reports and guidelines for colleagues

Knowledge of processes required to handle information, records and statistics accurately and efficiently and demonstrate a well-organised approach to work assignments.
