SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — There are several ways to follow the Minnesota State University Moorhead men's basketball team's NSIC Sanford Health Tournament semifinal game on Monday. The Dragons will face Northern State at noon on Monday at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.
There will be a viewing part at Buffalo Wild Wings in Moorhead on Monday beginning at noon. The upstairs of BWW has been reserved for Dragon Fire members. MSUM (19-11) and Northern State (24-6) split the regular season series. The Dragons won the first meeting, 81-74 on Nov. 30 in Moorhead, thanks to 26 points from sophomore guard
Gavin Baumgartner.
A few weeks later in Aberdeen, Northern State prevailed 95-64, thanks to 53.1 percent shooting.
The Dragons beat Upper Iowa, 82-66 to advance to the NSIC Sanford Health semifinals for the first time since 2016. Senior guard
Johnny Beeninga had a season-high 22 points while Baumgartner added 18 and junior forward
Joe Sevlie 16.
Northern State advanced to the semis with a 68-66 win over Augustana on Saturday. Gabe King led the way with 22 points.
The winner of the MSUM-NSU game will face the winner of the Minnesota Duluth/Minnesota State Mankato semifinal in the championship at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at the Sanford Pentagon.
