Friday Roundtable: Disparities in Minnesota from the eyes of those who fight them

The Atlantic famously published "The Miracle of Minneapolis" praising the city's mix of affordability and opportunity. However, Politico rebutted that claim in an article with the headline "Something is Rotten in the State of Minnesota." The article highlights an opportunity, healthcare and education gap between the white population and people of color.

On the Friday Roundtable we take a closer look at the inequality in our own backyard.

MPR News host Kerri Miller spoke with:

Abdul Omari, CEO and founder of AMO Enterprise, which helps connect through leadership seminars and mentoring.

Sondra Samuels, the President & CEO of the Northside Achievement Zone

Taiyon Coleman, Assistant-Professor of American Multicultural Literature at St. Kates and her writing is featured in the new book "A Good Time for the Truth: Race in Minnesota."
