First, the Democrats ruined the manufacturing economies of industrial states with their misguided economic policies. Now, they’re doing all they can to stop my father from restoring prosperity to Middle America. It’s almost as if they want him to win reelection next year.

For the past three years, the Democratic Party has tried to obstruct every single one of President Trump’s policies while searching for a way to remove him from office. It’s hard to imagine a combination better suited to drive away the voters who delivered the presidency to Donald J. Trump in 2016.

When my father spoke to voters in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin and other places that had been long overlooked by establishment politicians, they could tell that he understood the problems they faced — and more importantly, they saw that he was serious about implementing genuine solutions rather than just offering platitudes and superficial fixes.

He’s been working to fulfill his promises to those voters since Day One, eliminating unnecessary regulations that were holding back the manufacturing and energy sectors, slashing taxes on middle-income Americans and renegotiating trade deals to ensure that American workers and businesses can compete on a level playing field. So when Democrats try to obstruct the America First agenda, they’re actually lining up against the interests of millions of hard-working Americans in the very states that they need to win in 2020.

The only way the Democrats could have insulted those voters any more would be to launch a politically motivated effort to impeach the first president in generations who has actually looked out for the needs of ordinary folks. And that’s exactly what they did.

To the shock and dismay of elected Democrats and media figures across the country, the American people knew exactly what they were voting for when they elected Donald Trump. And they aren’t taking kindly to the partisan witch hunt being waged against their president while he works on their behalf.

According to a recent survey from Firehouse Strategies and Optimus, President Trump is currently enjoying a sizable lead over his Democratic challengers in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — three states that were critical to our 2016 election victory. “Overall, we find President Trump performing well in these crucial 2020 states,” Firehouse Strategies concluded, saying he “is well situated to win back these contests.”

The same phenomenon is playing out across the country, with polls increasingly showing that the Democratic impeachment crusade is actually improving my father’s reelection prospects.

Of course, the Democrats could have responded very differently to the collapse of their so-called “Blue Wall.” If they had engaged in a bit of self-reflection after the 2016 election, they might have realized that helping President Trump revive the economies of those states and create millions of new jobs would be a smarter political move than relentlessly opposing my father’s sincere efforts to improve the lives of those formerly forgotten Americans.

Democrats could have voted for the historic middle-class tax cuts in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which saved the average taxpayer in the Midwest around $1,400 on their federal income taxes last year. Instead, they unanimously opposed it in the Senate.

They could have assisted his efforts to secure the U.S.-Mexico border at a price far less than the $116 billion taxpayers shell out due to illegal immigration in a single year. Instead, they have fought tooth and nail against policies that would save taxpayers money while protecting American communities from violent gangs, illegal narcotics and human trafficking.

They could have even made approving the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement a top legislative priority this year, rather than waiting until their impeachment gamble turned against them before finally — and grudgingly — agreeing to bring it to a vote. The updated deal will add tens of billions of dollars to our economy and create jobs for nearly 200,000 American workers, yet House Speaker Nancy Pelosi kept it in her desk drawer for nearly an entire year.

The Democrats’ crusade against prosperity would only become more aggressive if they manage to win control of the White House next year.

Honestly, I don’t think I could have come up with a political strategy more certain to result in my father’s reelection than the one Democrats have pursued. After losing the 2016 election because blue-collar voters were sick of watching establishment politicians undermine their economic prospects, the Democrats really should have known better than to base their entire political strategy on preventing President Trump from keeping his most popular promises to those voters.
