On June 21, 2023, the Commonwealth provisionally designated Boston Medical Center as the redevelopment partner for the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital Campus, located at 170 Morton Street in the City of Boston.

August 23rd 2023 Update – A recording of the August 15th 2023 virtual public meeting is available here.

The Boston Medical Center Team is holding an in-person community open house regarding this redevelopment at the Lena Park Community Center (150 American Legion Hwy, Dorchester) on September 19th at 5:30 PM. August 8th 2023 Update – Per the July 13th update below, registration for the August 15th 2023 virtual public meeting from 5:30 – 7:30 PM EST is available here.

July 13th 2023 Update - Please join the Commonwealth and the Boston Medical Center Team for a virtual public meeting on Thursday, July 20th from 5:30-7:30 PM EST or Tuesday, August 15th from 5:30-7:30 PM EST.  At these meetings, interested parties and area residents can hear about the BMC-led Coalition’s vision for the Shattuck redevelopment, ask questions, and share feedback to inform the planning and development process. June 21st 2023 Update - The Commonwealth has provisionally designated the Boston Medical Center Team as the redevelopment partner for the Shattuck Campus at Morton Street. The provisional designation allows BMC to begin due diligence efforts to advance the project. BMC’s development proposal is not a final plan for implementation, and it is currently subject to explorations of feasibility and ongoing public engagement.

August 19th 2022 Update - The time for responding to the RFP is now closed. The Commonwealth received one proposal from the following:  Boston Medical Center (One Boston Medical Center Drive, Boston, MA 02118) in collaboration with development partners The Community Builders and JP Neighborhood Development Corporation, and Service Providers Pine Street Inn, Bay Cove Human Services, Victory Programs Inc, Health Care Resource Centers, and Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program.

The proposal will now be evaluated.

Bidder’s Conference Update - A Bidder’s Conference for the Shattuck Redevelopment RFP
was held on July 26, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., via ZOOM Webinar.  Find the recording of the Bidder’s Conference.  
Participation in the bidder’s conference is not a requirement to submit a bid.

RFP Questions – Please submit questions on the Shattuck Redevelopment RFP to shattuckcampus.dcamm@mass.gov before Friday, July 29th at 3:00 p.m.  DCAMM will post questions and written responses on this webpage on or before Friday, August 5th at 12:00 p.m. Please note we encourage questions to be submitted prior to the deadline and may post answers before the deadline.

Request for Proposal (RFP)

The RFP can be accessed at Shattuck Campus Redevelopment at Morton Street RFP Registration Form.  Interested parties are encouraged, but not required, to register.  DCAMM will post any updates related to the Shattuck RFP on this webpage and attempt to email registered interested parties with any updated information.  Please carefully confirm the accuracy of any information you enter. The project contemplates the ground lease of approximately 13 acres for the creation and operation of a minimum of 75-100 units of new permanent supportive housing; creation and operation of new clinical space geared towards residential treatment and the provision of physical and behavioral health services addressing Substance Use Disorder (SUD) while prioritizing connections to the natural environment that are compatible with Franklin Park, among other specified goals outline in the RFP.

Final Project Proposal to the AMB

On June 29, 2021, following the visioning process and several public meetings, the Asset Management Board (AMB) approved the Final Project Proposal for the Shattuck Campus and Morton Street Redevelopment.
