It is critical that humanitarian organizations are able to operate in sanctioned countries so that the civilian population is minimally affected. We hosted The University of Memphis professor Dursun Peksen for a dialogue on the Efficacy of Economic Sanctions last September. Dr. Peksen states that the data accumulated since 1945 shows that #sanctions work only 25-30% of the time and he discusses the increasing complexity of using sanctions as a political tool. https://lnkd.in/d2VnxjGW
