- Okay, now it's your turn. We tried this for a beat, pun intended, at the top but take some time today to work on your own interoception skills by counting your heartbeats. Find a quiet place and without physically feeling for your pulse, try to count your heartbeats in 30-second intervals and record your results. If you happen to have a watch that tracks BPMs, maybe an Apple watch or a pulse oximeter lying around, people actually have those now since Covid. Use those to get an accurate count and compare it to your own results. This is a good test of your own interoception abilities. And just so you know, most people who do this test to themselves generally underestimate the number of beats. Although individuals with a slower heart rate like athletes are usually more accurate. Thanks for listening. - Knowable. Now you know.
