- The baseball legend Yogi Berra reportedly said that "You can see a lot by just looking" and it may sound strange, but that principle actually applies to data analysis as well. And one of the best ways to do that is with the program SPSS, a data analysis package from IBM that originally was developed over 50 years ago for exploring and modeling data. I'm Barton Poulson, and in this course, we'll take a look at how you can get started with SPSS. We'll see how you can make data visualizations and wrangle data, calculate descriptive statistics, we'll work with some powerful methods for analyzing associations in the data and building models to help you get insight. We'll also see how you can share your work with others so they can get the same benefits of the data revolution. This is an introductory course, so you don't need to have experience with SPSS or other programs, it's helpful, but not critical to have some familiarity with the basic concepts of statistical analysis. But either way, I'll explain concepts thoroughly as we go through the course. And so with that, let's get started with SPSS Essential Training.
