    Get to know Sentinel: John Kastl John recently retired from Valmont Industries as Sr. Fellow and is now providing product development and IP consulting services. During his 21 years at Valmont, John managed the Agriculture Division’s patent portfolio as well as consulted on new company initiatives and university and research partnerships. As Vice President of Product Development, he led the team developing the next generation of mechanized irrigation equipment and related technologies. John was also responsible for the development of Valley’s 7000 series and the VFlex Corner products at Valley. As Vice President of Engineering for Smeal Fire Apparatus, he led the engineering teams across multiple sites developing custom pumpers and aerials for the fire service. John started his career with General Electric Aviation where he worked as a combustion engineer on the F120, High Speed Civil Transport programs as well as a structural engineer for the Advanced Product Engineering division working on the GE90 115B front fan and bearing support structure. John has over 30 years’ experience in product development, product management and advanced technology maturation in agriculture and aerospace. He holds a bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska and is named on 12 US patents.

    Meet Sentinel: Dylan Addington Born and raised in Colorado, Dylan Addington’s love for the outdoors inspired him to pursue a career in agriculture and environmental science. In 2019, he graduated from the University of Wyoming with a bachelor’s degree in Agroecology and a focus on watershed management and ag tech. During his time at UW, Dylan interned for multiple farming operations and precision agriculture providers to better understand the needs of the industry and how technology can make farm operations more efficient and effective. He began his professional career in South Dakota, developing and implementing precision agriculture systems and providing that technology to the farmers of the Midwest. Dylan recently moved back to the Rocky Mountain region and can now be found on the Western Slope, in Fruita, CO. As Sentinel’s Product Success Manager, Dylan works to provide critical support to our customers. He also collaborates with our development team to create new technology and fantastic customer service. Dylan married his wife, Nicole, in 2022, and together they have an amazing rescue dog, Ellie. Dylan is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys cycling, mountain biking, fly fishing, and hunting. During his free time, you can find him on the bike or walking the trails of the Rockies with his wife and dog.
