Along the way, she also learned to be her authentic self, including at Intuitive, where she “sensed that I could truly present myself as who I am.” Now, Soyal prioritizes paying it forward—to women across Intuitive, where she is active participant in our Employee Resource Groups, and passionate about advancing the careers of women and people of color. “I try to ensure that my team members feel valued, heard, and empowered to contribute their unique ideas and opinions,” she says. If there’s one takeaway from Intuitive at #AUA24, it’s this: We’re as committed as we’ve ever been to continuous innovation in robotic-assisted urologic surgery. It was our honor to sponsor the AUA Robotics Theater for the third year in a row. We also had the pleasure of introducing da Vinci 5 to urologists and sharing our latest innovation of Custom Remote Center, enabled by software advancements to da Vinci SP. For surgeons who operate with the SP Access Port or with a floating dock technique, utilizing Custom Remote Center may provide greater surgeon autonomy, seamless instrument exchanges, and larger workspace access and visualization. Michael Stifelman, MD, Director of Robotic Surgery, Hackensack Meridian Health said, “Custom Remote Center also took away some of the need to think about what is happening at the bedside and has allowed me to be more efficient and to have easier instrument exchanges.” Solving problems through innovation—that’s Intuitive.

Live from #AUA24: Urologic surgeons are test driving da Vinci 5, the most advanced and integrated system we’ve ever created—and are discovering the value of Force Feedback, enhanced ergonomics, and other game-changing innovations. In our double-feature Product Theater, Drs. Jaschar Shakuri-Rad and Michael Stifelman, MD also explored the potential of our newest system as well as demonstrated the digital ecosystem capabilities of Intuitive Hub via a live telepresence event on da Vinci SP. Advancing what’s possible in robotic-assisted urologic surgery—that’s Intuitive.

#AUA24 kicks off tomorrow, but we couldn’t wait to get started—so today we’re supporting the American Urological Association in hosting their first-ever specialized masterclass for single-port robotic-assisted surgery. Up to 40 participants joined urologic surgeons from Johns Hopkins, University of Illinois at Chicago, and Cleveland Clinic for a hands-on experience in radical prostatectomy and partial nephrectomy using da Vinci SP. This is what our commitment to minimally invasive urologic surgery looks like: Bright minds sharing their expertise with the next generation of single-port robotic surgeons. #DaVinciSurgery
