It was a great turnout for the launch of the High Integrity Marine Natural Capital Markets in the UK Roadmap, yesterday, in the Houses of Parliament. The roadmap, developed by Finance Earth and Pollination, outlines steps and guidelines to create economic value from marine ecosystems while ensuring their protection and sustainable management. Principal funders included The Crown Estate and the Blue Marine Foundation, with additional support from Crown Estate Scotland, the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, and the University of Portsmouth. Following an agreement between The Crown Estate and Crown Estate Scotland, the Marine Data Exchange has been extended to cover Scottish waters. This expansion allows developers across UK waters to access a more comprehensive dataset to inform offshore developments. This will support faster, sustainable deployment of offshore technologies critical to the UK's energy transition, while safeguarding marine biodiversity. Read the full story below.
