Milwaukee musician Evan Christian Burgess is looking to reopen Gibraltar, a music venue he owned in Walker's Point, this time in the Third Ward at 131 N. Jackson St.

According to a liquor license application with the City of Milwaukee, Burgess, who goes by the stage name Evan Christian, plans to have live music in the 2,000-square-foot space that has capacity for 129 customers.

The bar would make 80% of its sales from alcohol, 10% from food, and 10% from entertainment.

Gibraltar was previously a bar and live music venue, with a focus on jazz music, at 538 W. National Ave., from 2015 to 2018. The space is now occupied by bar and live music venue Promises, which opened in August.

The Third Ward spot was most recently home to western-themed Saloon, and before that Campsite 131, both by the owners of Camp Bar, which has a location in the same building at 525 E. Menomonee St.
