OVERVIEW

In accordance with ITU Plenipotentiary Resolution 146 (Rev. Busan, 2014), the ​ITU Council, at its 2016 Session, adopted Resolution 1379, which resolves that an Expert Group on the International Telecommunication Regulations (EG‑ITRs), open to all Member States and Sector Members, be created.

The EG-ITRs should meet physically as part of the cluster of Council Working Group meetings in 2017 and 2018, and a final physical meeting should be held prior to the Council in 2018. The group shall prepare a progress report to the 2017 session of the Cou​ncil, as well as a final report to the 2018 session of the Council, for submission to the 2018 Plenipotentiary Conference.
