Illinois Apprenticeship Initiatives

The State Apprenticeship Expansion program currently funds both apprenticeship specialists and apprenticeship intermediaries. Apprenticeship Specialists help employers establish and sponsor apprenticeships at their businesses. Apprenticeship intermediaries sponsor and manage apprenticeship programs while working with businesses to support apprentices’ progress.

This initiative funds 16 apprenticeship intermediary programs in Illinois. Links to locations are below.

Chicago Apprentice Network
The Chicago Apprentice Network raises awareness of apprenticeship and helps businesses establish successful apprentice programs to offer more opportunities to more people in Chicagoland. Since 2017, the Chicago Apprentice Network has grown from three founding companies – Accenture, Aon, and Zurich North America – to more than 50 companies across multiple industries.

Industry Consortium for Advanced Training or ICATT
ICATT is a nationally recognized 3-year dual apprenticeship program established by the German American Chamber of Commerce® that combines on-the-job training with Associate in Applied Science degree programs.
