Carol's Obituary

Ms. Carol Ann Palmer, 56, of Harlem, GA, entered into rest Friday, December 16, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.

Ms. Palmer was born in Athens Georgia, and no doubt where her love for the University of Georgia Football began. She grew up in Washington, GA and graduated from Washington Wilkes Comprehensive High School in 1984. She attended Brewton Parker College where she was on track to complete her nursing degree when she determined that Emergency Medical Services was a better fit for her. She earned her EMT certification in 1987 and completed her EMT-P in 1994. In 2003, she became a Critical Care EMT-P, and in 2012, she became a flight medic. In August, 2011, Carol became a Paramedic Instructor, and in 2018, she obtained her BS in EMS Administration from Columbia Southern University and was recently accepted into their Masters Program. She worked and served many communities as an EMT, EMT-P, Flight Medic, EMS Coordinator and Adjunct Professor over the last 35 years. Her current role was Program Director of Augusta University’s EMS Programs. In each of these positions, she impacted lives in such ways that her legacy will live on for many years to come. She is already greatly missed!

Carol was the daughter of Julia Thigpen Palmer, and the late Dennis Edward Palmer, Sr. of Washington. Ms. Palmer is survived by her daughter, Jessica Lynn Ward Nale (Shaun), of Harlem; her son, James Christopher Ward (Rachel), of Clarksville, TN; her son, David Alexander “Alex” Sellers, of Grovetown; her siblings, Dennis Edward “Eddie” Palmer,  Jr., (Tracy), of Americus; Julia Elizabeth “Beth” Guin (John), of Danburg, Dona Elaine Palmer Hornung (Jeff), of Appling; two grandchildren, Brody Palmer Nale, and Zofia Evelyn Ward; five nieces, one nephew and three great nephews.
