Regional Meeting Presentation Opportunities

Site Champions and Provider Organization leads are invited to present at the regional meetings. Presentations are 15 to 20 minutes long and can describe how you have strengthened your care pathway, partnered with other resources or organizations to prevent suicide, or another topic related to MI Mind protocols, processes or suicide prevention. Presenters receive additional points on their PO’s scorecard for making a presentation to colleagues. For more information and to express your interest, email the MI Mind team at MIMind@hfhs.org.

What is MI Mind?

It is a collaborative quality initiative (CQI) bringing providers, health systems and suicide prevention experts together to reach shared goals: Improving suicide prevention, care and access to key behavioral health services in the State of Michigan. Our mission is to engage psychiatrists, psychologists and primary care physicians in the use of care pathways to significantly reduce suicides in Michigan.

Led by Henry Ford Health in partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield Michigan, the program offers providers evidence-based suicide prevention practices backed by training, information, support and evaluation with a long-term goal of furthering research, innovation and advances in clinical care.

What is a Site Champion?

A Site Champion is a physician or established leader in the participating practice who is engaged, energetic, and passionate about the intersection of behavioral and physical health. Learn more.

MI Mind Provider Organizations

When Upper Peninsula Health Plan (UPHP), Trinity Health Alliance of Michigan (THAM), and Holland PHO joined MI Mind for the second cohort, the total number of MI Mind primary care and behavioral health providers reached nearly 500. Trinity Health and Holland PHO expanded the CQI’s presence in western Michigan, while Upper Peninsula Health Group extended the reach of MI Mind to serve patients and providers in the state's upper peninsula:

  • Upper Peninsula Health Plan (UPHP) is based in Marquette and extends the geographic reach of MI Mind throughout the Upper Peninsula.
  • Trinity Health Alliance of Michigan (THAM) is headquartered in Muskegon and serves patients in western Michigan.
  • Holland PHO is a physician-hospital organization and a cooperative partnership between community physicians and Holland Hospital.


Order Crisis Cards for your practice

MI Mind Crisis Cards are available for participating providers at no cost to give to patients and their loved ones. The cards include the 988 Crisis and Suicide Lifeline, Trans Life Line and Veteran’s Crisis Line. Email MI Mind at MIMind@hfhs.org to request a supply for your practice.
