Commitment to Patient-Centered Care

“I have been researching how the quality of the work environment affects doctors and patients for years. In addition to my leading role in research and provider wellness, I am a primary care provider and Vice-Chair for Education, Mentorship and Scholarship in the Department of Medicine at Hennepin Healthcare. I am also the Director of the Hennepin Healthcare Center for Patient and Provider Experience. Patient-centered care, particularly for disadvantaged patients, is central to my career at Hennepin Healthcare. In this safety net hospital, it is highly rewarding to engage patients in their own care.”

Clinical Expertise

Dr. Linzer is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and has a clinic-based primary care panel consisting of adults with acute and chronic conditions. His expertise in patient and provider experience has given him opportunities to learn and develop skills in shared decision making. He is also interested in Minimally Disruptive Medicine and decreasing the burden of treatment (work caused by treatment) to patients.

Personal

“Working at Hennepin Healthcare is a dream come true! I get to work with dedicated and talented colleagues and serve patients from diverse backgrounds. When I am not at work, I enjoy playing my guitar (sometimes gigs for Hennepin Healthcare) and running.”
