Great story. Loved the main characters. Beautifully written.

Very, very long-winded. So much so, there were times I just read the first sentence of each paragraph to move things along. Authors should always remember, when a character asks a question, and the hearer goes into three pages of internal dialogue before providing the answer, the reader no longer remembers what the original question was any longer.

I simply loved this book it pulls you in from the very beginning and I couldn’t put it down. I m voluntarily reviewing an advance reader copy of the book.

Ember has just been hired to work as the Vet Tech at the Menagerie and suddenly finds herself surrounded by very healthy animals with a lot of single women insisting their animals are sick. It soon becomes apparent that they are trying to catch the eye of the very handsome Dr Caldwell. Ember knows that she wouldn’t have a chance with a man like that he could have anyone but a girl can dream. Wanting yo know more about him she noses in to his past with dangerous results, will Ember survive the danger now surrounding her and could the way that Dr Caldwell looks at her be more than she ever dreamed possible?

Doc Caldwell is the only vet in the small town of Hearts Edge, needing some assistance he hires September Delwen after a phone interview. He didn’t expect the shy, clumsy innocent woman that shows up, he’s instantly attracted to her but after the things in his past knows he can’t ever make a move. Not wanting to involve anyone in his murky past he rebuffs any women, but Ember brings him light, knowing he should stay away is one thing but doing it is entirely a different matter. Can he really walk away from Ember or will his past come calling and take her away?

If you are looking for a read to keep you on the edge of your seat, sexual tension that will leave you squirming then you can’t go wrong with this book. Highly entertaining superb read. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I really enjoyed this book. It pulled you in from page one and it doesn’t let you go until it is done. Ember and Doc were a great couple and since he is a vet, you get a chance to meet some patients of the 4 legged variety and who doesn’t love that. Their story was very well written and you will root for them to get their HEA. This book can be read in one sitting and you won’t want it to end. I can’t wait to see what may be next from Heart’s Edge.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I liked this.. but some weird stuff happened as well lol.

No Good Doctor has you meet Ember and Dr. Caldwell. She finds it hilarious that so many people bring their pets to see him but they aren't sick. Not one animal has anything wrong with them. Yet, they all flock to the vet to see him. Until one day, she doesn't find it funny because she ends up catching feelings for this mysterious boss of hers.

Ember and Doc were kind of cute. Yet, when we got to know more about his background things got weird. Like, really weird. Not sure as to why some things happened but shit basically went down in this small ass town. Especially towards the end, which I'm happy none of their loved ones got hurt but damn - it got strange.

After all of that, I did like the romance and all of the other stuff. It was cute and these two definitely deserved a happy ending - especially doc. Really glad that KU recommended me this and can't wait to find another random read on there soon.

DNF at 20%.

Heroine says she's "nothing" and considers herself worthless. I'm ok with 25-year old virgin but she acts more like at 16-year-old who grew up in a cult with no exposure to anyone.

Her mother is a weirdo who stalks the hero a bit (creepy!)

The hero has some big secret related to the military that I can't bring myself to care about. He's dealing with an enemy who's a black-widow-style woman who's wandering around the town. (Why she's drawing so much attention to herself when she's also hiding a big secret, I don't know).

Anyway, it's a hot mess, so I had to abandon and go read a lot of Julie James books to get rid of the stank of this book from my mind.

This book is just as good as the first! Doc is an interesting and grumpy veterinarian who hires Ember to be his vet tech sight unseen. He’s desperate, because his practice gets a lot of work for such a small town, mostly because he’s one of the few eligible bachelors around.
Ember is shy and awkward and extremely clumsy, especially when she’s around her handsome, yet cold boss. Of course, as the novel progresses, he gradually warms up to her.
As with the first book in this series, this is a romantic suspense at heart. We find out why Doc is so cold, and what happened eight years ago that resulted in Paradise Hotel being burnt to the ground. Doc’s past is coming back to haunt him, and he has to do whatever it takes to protect Heart’s Edge--and his sweet vet tech--from the dangers that it brings.
In this book, we’re also introduced to the local legend--Nine-- and I peaked ahead and found out that his book is the next in the series. I can’t wait!

I’m so disappointed that this wasn’t Doc and Nine. I should have known better, this author writes virginal girls and the brooding alpha males they love, but the teaser for this book had me hoping she’d break her mould. Alas.

The background story that wove through this novel and the previous two (and probably at least one more future novel) was interesting but wasted here. It was too big to work with the virginal, wide-eyed, clumsy af, seriously immature TSTL heroine (who the hero describes as ‘adorably clumsy’. Spoiler alert - there is nothing remotely adorable about a woman who wipes out every other page.)

Doc was an interesting hero, but he needed a more interesting partner, or at least one who was a grown up.

There was potential here, but the blending of thriller and formulaic cheesy romance didn’t work.

5 Amazing Stars!

This was an amazing book by Nicole Snow, and so far my favorite in the series! I was nonstop highlighting, especially Grey's thoughts! I'm officially obsessed with him! Nicole has a way of really bringing all these characters to life, and you can't help but love them all, and want more! I fell in love with them in No Perfect Hero, but now I am officially invested in each character and story, and I literally cannot wait for Nine's story, and hopefully, Blake's too! Love this book!

Kurzbeschreibung

Smart und clever. Gutaussehend. Schlecht gelaunt.

Meinung

Zitat

More Than Just A Steamy Romance - Brace For A Complex Story With Compelling Characters

This book can be read perfectly as a stand alone; however, it is related to and ideally read right after No Perfect Hero, which is Warren's story.

At twenty-five, September Delwen is looking for a fresh start away from the Seattle area and the sad memories of her beloved late father. She applies for a job as Vet Tech in her cousin Felicity's sleepy town of Heart's Edge, Montana at the community's only veterinary clinic.

Dr. Gray Caldwell, affectionately called "Doc" by his adoring customers, is a tall, devastatingly handsome veterinarian. A bachelor at thirty-seven - one of only two above college age in town - he is chased relentlessly by every single woman in the area. He wears a mask, carefully participating in society without engaging in more than the bare minimum, although his magnetism compensates for his cold and restrained demeanor since most never realize his responses are not genuine.

Doc hires Ember to be his much-needed new Vet Tech at The Menagerie over the phone, and never anticipates the petite willowy blonde who shows up that first day, unbelievably shy and tripping over herself. But her natural connection with animals doesn't escape his attention. His well-honed self-control keeps him in check when he even contemplates considering Ember as something more than an emoloyee. She is much too young for him, of course. And too innocent.

Dr. Caldwell has a secret past that has kept him tied to Heart's Edge. He had been recruited by Galentron a decade prior for a highly classified position in the defense medical research industry, testing cures for military clients.
He now knows their motives are not altruistic, though. He believes they want a weapon without a cure. He holds himself responsible for the aftermath of a tragedy that had unfolded eight years earlier, and he remains behind to keep the town safe.

When Ember gets a little too nosy about the mysterious doctor's past, she stumbles upon danger, but Doc comes to her rescue. He then realizes he can no longer keep his past a secret. As Gray and Ember finally take a step forward, Gray realizes that he can relax with her at his side and shed his false front.

This story is well-written and tightly put together with a complex storyline, mystery, and complex characters. It is a very slow burn, allowing for the development of the unfolding plot and the build up of a mature relationship to complement the strong chemistry between Gray and Ember. First 60% builds the tension as Doc and Miss Delwen learn to work with one another. During a crisis they work seamlessly side by side, and her clumsiness and insecurity vanish when she works with animals. Doc has a number of flashbacks as people from his past reappear, causing him renewed concern for the safety of the people of Heart's Edge.

Gray and Ember are a great couple. It is easy to fall in love with them. Gray is swoony and sympathetic. His flashbacks teach so much about why he is cold, and it becomes apparent why he might really need someone like Ember in his life. Seeing him happy is very rewarding! The couple earns a well-deserved and very satisfying HEA.

Beyond the couple, the relationship between Gray and his friends - Warren, Blake, and Leo (Nine) - is a different kind of love story - that of brothers in war, or of true friendship. To have friends that are willing to risk everything for you is priceless. The author pulls it all together in an emotional ending. I would rate this 4.5 stars if possible.

I received a free advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The Heroes of Heart’s Edge series continues with this standalone book, No Good Doctor by Nicole Snow. I just love Nicole Snow’s writing because of the deep characters and wonderfully descriptive scenery that sets the tone for the stories. No Good Doctor is filled with so much sexual tension that you can cut it with a knife. Sexy, hot and over the top delicious I just couldn’t put this book down. Nicole Snow is a magnificent storyteller and will leave the reader on the edge of their seat. No Good Doctor is 5 brightly shining stars!!
Dr. (Doc) Caldwell is the only veterinarian in town. He’s tall, gorgeous and single and women bring their pets in to see him even when they aren’t sick. Too tormented by his past Doc politely dismisses all the advances made by the ladies in town. September (Ember) Delwen is the new vet tech in the small town of Heart’s Edge. She’s not going to let her gorgeous intimidating boss scare her off, or the female jackals that flock to the animal clinic with their pets. Ember knows that there is more to the quiet brooding man and she can’t help but want to be more active in his life. Doc doesn’t want the clumsy innocent girl to get hurt by his past that seems to be coming back to haunt him, but Doc just can’t seem to keep his hands off the beautiful firefly of a woman that has brought light to his world.

I liked this book but not quite as much as the first one. It took me awhile to fall for Doc just because he is so secretive and it took almost half the book to figure him out. But overall I enjoyed the book and I already have the next one ready to go.

I received a copy of this book from the pubiisher/author to review.

Pinch me. I can't believe I am working uner him. Dr. Gray Caldwell. Hottest, swoonist, stromiest bachelor ever. Insanely tall. Unfair perfection. Intimidating abs and X-ray glares. Doc put the animal back in veterinarian. My dream job should be all puppies and kittens. Turns out, ny new boss hates three things:
1. Small town drama. Baby, we've got tons.
2. Pets in distress- and he is their hereo every time.
3. Anybody poking around his past. Like me, Oh, Crud.
But how could I resist the best mystery in Heart's Edge? I wish I had. Unraveling Gray ina dangerous game. One wrong move could end our little town. Plus this gorgeous, complicated grump plays for keeps. I barely reconginze the man he becomes vowing to protect me. A beastly shield who sets every rule on fire. Then one stolen, five alarm kiss sends my whole world spinning. Hello, trouble. Farewell sanity. What if it's not the good doctor who claims me, but the bad one.

Good grief this book was absolutley amazing and I devoured it. This book is filled with some amazing sexual tension. This is the stoy or Dr. Caldwell who is the only vet in town. He is tall , handsome and single which has the ladies and their pets coming into his office even when they do not need to. How the good doctor has a past and that has his shying away from the women with a polite no thank you. Ember is a vet tech in town and she is now working for the good doctor and is not immune to his good looks and that charm he tries to hide so well. He is however intimidating and she is determinded to not let him run her off. However she wants to know more about him and that doesn't exactly leave her one the safe side when things from his past seem to be coming back to haunt him. He doesn't want her to get hurt, but that does't mean that he can now keep his hands off the one woman who has managed to brighten up his world. This story was amazing. I love how Nicole Snow writes such amazing characters that will stay in you heart for a really long time. This is a must read like all of her books are. If you have not discovered her yet you don't know what your missing.

I had to DNF. With 2 hours left to go in the audiobook I just couldn't do it. This book was so bad! Major bummer since I really enjoyed the first book. Here come the spoiler gripes:

Ember goes running after that lady who is driving a car. First of all, how? Second of all, why? What did she think that would accomplish? That was so incredibly ridiculous. Shows what an idiotic character Ember is. Ember had never been kissed... why does that need to be a thing? Why in both books did the female have to be so young while the male so much older? Women in their 30s can have romance as well. So little ms never been kissed ends up having a orgasm during her first ever kiss??? Without him even touching her? Just from the kiss??? I just. Can't. I didn't think they had any chemistry. I honestly had no idea why Doc was confiding in her about his entire past. I really hate the trope of the man being like "I'm so bad. I'm so bad that no one should be with me because my past is so horrible." Especially when typically their past is not horrible! He actually did the right thing back then! Also, if I had to hear either of them talk about how small she was and how big he was I was going to scream. "I'm just a wisp and he's an oak tree" Actual quote from the book. WE GET IT, she's a petite woman. Jesus. All of their dialogue together was so incredibly cringy. I stopped at the part where Ember decided it would be a good idea to go after Doc and his military trained friends to help them deal with mercenaries because she thought they needed backup and that she and her cousin who have 0 experience would be a great choice for backup. Girl Squad to the rescue! Please.

Open your copy of No Good Doctor and get swept away by Doc Caldwell; swoon and sass entangle in this story and leave the reader both satisfied and wanting more! Doc is the only veterinarian in this small town and he has a bit of a mysterious past. While the some in the town guess about his past and others talk he keeps everything tight to the vest. Who doesn’t love a mysterious man, especially one great with pets? This attacks every available female in town and while he loves to flirt, he turns them all down. Enter Ember and even though he tries to resist the sparks and heat fly.

This author knows how to write stories that are brilliant and detailed but my favorite of her talents lies in her character development. I could not have loved Doc Caldwell anymore then I do. He has this perfect balance of characteristics that makes him both lovable a frustrating at the same time. I felt for him yet loved when Ember set him back on track. Ember was a fun character as well because she was quite but at the same time held her own.

The chemistry between these two is wonderful and tension filled. I could feel it all the way through my kindle; and ohh what a story that makes. I loved the balance these two brought each other and that they were so different yet fit so well. I could re-read this book again and just hit their dialogue and still find the book wonderful. Highly recommended! I received an ARC and am leaving an honest review.

When September (Ember) Delwan moves to Heart's Edge to work at The Menagerie, she never dreams how much her life is about to change. Neither does "Doc" Gray Caldwell when he hired the just out of school veterinary tech. Innocent, tripping over her own feet, turning red when he looks at her, 15 years his junior, but with magic hands on every animal that comes into the practice. Soothing, calm, voice like an angel, breaking down the walls he has erected around his heart with his battle scarred hands. Neither can deny the feelings they have for each other.

He has huge secrets that he cannot reveal. He has to protect the town, especially Ember. And when the Devil in a black dress walzes into his practice with a black cat one evening, he knows it's all about to break loose.

Ember thinks she only has to fight off the "jackels" in town, the women who flock to the clinic daily trying to snare Doc Caldwell. She has no idea there is something much bigger trying to snare him. Larger than she can imagine. There are newcomers to town. Gray doesn't like them. Ten years ago there was a fire at the old Paradise Hotel. Now a Monster lurks in the woods. Ember has never been one to just let things lie, she must dig deep enough to find the truth. To free Gray.

This was a really good book, full of suspense, steamy love scenes, and my favorite a HEA! Definitely a FIVE STAR READ!!!!

THRILLING - DANGER - HEART-MELTING SIZZLING ROMANCE

DISCLOSURE; Strictly on a volunteer basis, this is a pre-release review via Booksprout.

A heart-racing home run read for me that kept me eager to learn what happened next. Thrilling suspense, humor, scenes that leave you breathless, spine-chilling danger, and fiery passionate romance make this a most electrifying read.

Doc (Gray Caldwell) the Veterinarian is the most wanted bachelor in the town of Heart's Edge. Desperate for a Vet tech, he hires September (Ember) Delwin via a phone call. Doc's secret past keeps him from having a peaceful life. He also pays the fawning women that seek him out no mind. Meeting Ember, who is somewhat of a klutz, has him in a whirlwind of uncontrollable desires. Though she is years younger than him, he is impressed that she does not falter in her job. When the danger of the past reappears in Heart's Edge protecting the town and Ember is his number one priority. Many twists and bends occur before their awesome ending.

Thrilling well-thought-out read from start to finish. Intriguing backstories give insight into Doc, Ember and the legend of Heart's Edge. A full cast of admirable characters brings the story to life. Unconditional love finds a home in this story. Doc and Ember's chemistry is spot-on; love them together. I found this to be a most gratifying read.

Nicole Snow is an auto-buy for me, I have been a fan of her broody alpha men that are a little bent and the lovely but strong women that bring them back to humanity. Dash in an interesting and intriguing story line and you get the gist about what happens in her stories. I was SOOO looking forward to this story as we have seen Doc previously and got the impression that this guy is wound tighter than a steel beam.

This book goes into detail about the real history of Hearts Edge and how Doc got to be, well, so himself and introduces Ember who is the complete opposite of him with a heart of gold and truly a ray of sunshine. Well, they do say that opposites attract right?!

All in all, No Good Doctor is full of slow burn steam and secrets and schemes. You have NO clue what really went down in Heart's Edge and y'all it is pretty freaking crazy! Great writing, plot, steam, heart, characters, and just plain freaking great. You need to check this book out!

PS: I received an advanced copy in return for my honest review.

Heroes of Hearts Edge in every sense of the word. You had me at Vet! Dr Gray Caldwell is the local veterinarian and most of his patients come from the local women of Hearts Edge trying to sway the sexy animal doctor into their bed, however this closed off broody alpha is having none of it.

Ember starts her first day as Doc's assistant and immediately realises she may have bitten off more than she can chew when it comes to her sexy new boss. Sparks immediately fly, however with him being nearly double her age, Doc knows he must protect this young and innocent firefly at all costs.

As well as tending to sick animals, ghosts from doc's past have come back to haunt this former marine and in doing so have put a target on the back of the good people of Hearts Edge. Doc must now call on the help of his good friends to try and bring down the latest town threat. Plenty of action throughout kept me on the edge of my seat and the spark between doc an ember was absolute magic.
I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

Gray and his firefly😍

Ember moves to Heart’s Edge for a change of pace and scenery and is shocked to see so many pets being treated on a daily basis, but it soon becomes clear that it’s not about the animals but more about the man treating them. Doc is the quintessential man, he’s mysterious, a bachelor and super sexy and every single women in their small town wants him.

This story has a little bit of everything...a small town romance, check; suspense, drama and action, check; fugitives, secrets galore, check and check❣️I found the story really intriguing but it took me a while to get into it just purely because Nicole’s writing is new to me as are the characters. The depth of story was good and the characters were well developed. I am hoping though that there is a love story for Nine, as I feel he’s been a lone wolf for too many years and he needs love....perhaps Felicity can help him in that respect😁

Thank you to Nicole for my advanced copy for which I voluntarily leave my honest review💕

****Doc and his Firefly
Since Warren found his happily ever after in No Perfect Hero it's only fair for the good doctor to get his story next. Doc whom we met in the first book of Hearts Edge is shrouded in mystery. We all want to know his story. Of course it takes a Firefly to get the story out of him. Doc has dark secrets that he doesn't think Ember or ever the town of Hearts Edge should know about. He thinks this is safest for everyone. Well, all those secrets are about to come back in to town to bite him in the ass. Can Doc and the hero's of Hearts Edge save the day? Go get the book and find out.
I read an advance copy of this book.

Don’t miss this thrilling ride with a great plot and fantastic execution. Nicole Snow knows how to tell a great story. How to grab the reader and not let go until the story ends. I finished this book in one sitting, couldn’t walk away, couldn’t put it down. I loved the perpetual klutz with the backbone of steel, loved the brooding, broken man with the heart of a lion. Their chemistry is so hot, it sizzles with sparks. And I absolutely loved the storyline, the intensity of it is literally breathtaking! I wish there were more than 5 stars to give this amazing book. Thank you, Ms. Snow, for the ride. I loved it.

WOW this is a book that drags you into it and never lets go until you turn that last page
Dr Gray Caldwell is the vet that runs The menagerie he cares about all animals and isn't that impressed with all the women that beat a path to his door. He has a dark past and will do whatever he needs to in an attempt to keep it away from his new life in Hearts Edge. Then he employs a new vet tech sight unseen and Ember (his firefly) starts to have him thinking about a new life for himself When his past puts Emma in danger he will do whatever he needs to keep her safe as ell as the people of his new town

The writing is fantastic with an outstanding story. Doc and Ember have this amazing chemistry that is felt throughout the story. I loved Ember’s sense of humor. She is funny, charming, intelligent and feisty at times. Doc is a brooding alpha male that is just fantastic. The story has mystery, suspense, drama, and hot romance. It draws you in and keeps you glued to it until you reach the end. It is a story that lets us see previous characters and boy do they add to the story. Blake makes me laugh at times with his personality. It is definitely worth reading. I voluntarily review an advanced reader copy of this book.

What a great book this was. Once I started it was hard to put down. Heart's Edge will keep you on edge with all the twists, emotions, surprises and happenings. Dr Gray was all alpha with an attitude. Ember, his vet assistant was adorable and so sweet compared to the Doc. A slow burn with lots of chemistry. The characters were well-developed and the storyline was engaging. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review.
