Tree grown, Harvested by Hand!

  • All good things happen with time - Sweet Sugar Mangos are harvested each year between March and September, with our peak season in June - August.

  • Sweet Sugar Mangos® can be found in top grocers and fruit markets around the world, and for the first time will be available in the United States this year! Sugar Mangos™ and Sweet Sugar Mangos® are miniature, juicy, and sweet fruit, which are available exclusively from Goldenberry Farms (and our licensed growing and trading partners). Sugar Mangos™ have been developed with a natural technique to offer consumers and grocers a longer shelf life and a more robust taste.

  • The origin of the miniature mango is believed to be Spain, where the trees thrived in the summer sun. Sailors brought the mango tree and many different varieties to the Americas in the 1600’s, and other exotic ports. Today, the miniature mango exists in 16+ different countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Our Sugar Mangos™ are grown in Spain, Brazil, Colombia, and New Zealand. They are marked with the country of origin, and will usually come to you from the nearest possible origin.

  • Yes! These mini-mangos are designed to be washed and eaten, in fact - they have the nickname “lunchbox mango” because of how easy they are to carry around for a perfect sweet snack!

  • With Sugar Mangos, don't pay much attention to the color, as it’s not the best indicator of maturity. Sugar Mangos can be fully ripe with a variety of skin colors - green, yellow, or red.

A better test of ripeness is to squeeze the fruit lightly. A ripe sugar mango™ will feel slightly soft to the touch.

A firmer sugar mango would be a good choice if you don't plan to eat it for several days.

Use your experience with fruits like avocados, which also feel soft to the touch when ripe.

  • For longer shelf life, we recommend fruit to be refrigerated. Sugar Sugar Mangos® are high in vitamins A and C, and are a good source of thiamin, iron, niacin, and zinc.

  • Absolutely Not! Sweet Sugar Mangos™ have been growing for many years in the Magdelena Valley of Colombia, an area with a microclimate perfect for tree-ripening these little treasures. They are naturally grown with no help from science! Just alot of love and care from our farmers and mother nature!

  • There are no rules on eating miniature Sugar Mangos™ …. but here are a few tips …

Many people prefer to eat them just as a peach or apple - wash and eat!

You can also slice and peel them, cut them into cubes, and place them in airtight containers in the fridge for several days (or in the freezer for up to six months).

Remember to always use a clean knife and a cutting board to cut a sugar mango.

ALWAYS wash your hands, work area, kitchen utensils, and cutting board before handling or cutting any fruit.

Sugar Mangos are enjoyed alone, with salads, in the form of a smoothie, or even as ice cream; although we think the best way to enjoy a sugar mango is to eat it fresh!

  • Your purchase of Sugar Mango™ miniature mangos is pat of our “Where Good Things Grow” program.
