Delia’s Kitchen needs our help!

On Tuesday, 11/23, our beloved neighborhood Delia’s suffered a massive and catastrophic fire. The owner, Veronica, and her staff have been an institution in Oak Park for years. If you’ve ever been to Delia’s, you know the award-winning pancakes are sweet but not nearly as sweet as the staff who makes this place feel like home. Please help ease their burden during this tragic holiday season. All donations will be given directly to Veronica to cover wages for her team. Thank you for your support.
UPDATE 11/23: I just talked to Veronica and she is in shock from the events of the day but is so appreciative of the community coming out support Delia’s. As usual, she is concerned about her staff more than anything else. Thank you for easing all of their burden through this fundraiser.
UPDATE 11/30:
Thank you all for your generosity! In just one week, over 300 of you have donated to support Veronica and our friends at Delia's Kitchen! After fees, we raised a whopping $29,380.32! These donations will be divided equally between the 13 full-time Delia's staff to help them pay their bills until they can secure new employment.
Veronica was eager to get money into the hands of her staff by 12/1 so they could pay their December rents. Because there is a delay in processing withdrawal from GoFundMe, we transferred $30k to her directly from our personal account today. We will now begin the process to withdraw the funds from GoFundMe to repay ourselves $29,380.32 (our family is happy to eat the cost of the fees so we could send out an even $30k). We will now stop accepting donations to the fund and keep you posted on what's next for our beloved Delia's.
