After 15+ years practicing law, and as a partner at Lane Powell, my career took an unexpected turn when I embarked on a year long fellowship with the Leadership Council for Legal Diversity. During my fellowship year, I was struck with a deep desire to serve my fellow lawyers as an ambassador for inclusivity and diversity in the profession. With this new passion, I created Lane Powell’s first formal Director of Professional Development and Diversity role, which I proudly held for almost five years. During this time I gained knowledge and experience in developing talent and increasing diversity, equity and inclusion. Adding to that, I became a certified Integral Coach and now bring a deep understanding of helping others develop personal excellence to the work I do. I now get to spend my days working with individuals and organizations to help them reach excellence.


Background and Experience

  • JD from Lewis & Clark Law School; BA from University of Oregon (go Ducks!).

  • Certified Integral Coach by New Ventures West, San Francisco.

  • Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Training with Oregon Health Sciences University.

  • Leadership Council for Legal Diversity Fellow; class of 2014.

  • Leadership Portland; class of 2002.

  • Significant community non-profit board involvement including The Children’s Course, Oregon Children’s Theatre, Third Rail Repertory Theatre and the Citizens Crime Commission.

  • 19 years of private law practice as a real estate and land use lawyer at Foster Pepper, and Partner at Lane Powell.

  • 4+ years on the leadership team at Lane Powell as the firm’s first Director of Professional Development and Diversity.

  • Designed and implemented new programming at Lane Powell including first of its kind mentoring circle program, new partner program, diversity & inclusion firm-wide affinity group program and professional development academy.

  • Member of Professional Development Consortium (PDC).
