EveryStep Named A 2019 Top Workplace By The Des Moines Register

EveryStep been awarded a 2019 Top Workplaces honor by The Des Moines Register. This is the seventh time the EveryStep organization has earned a Top Workplaces recognition.

The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC (formerly WorkplaceDynamics), a leading provider of technology-based employee engagement tools. The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.

“EveryStep is once again honored to receive a Top Workplace designation,” says Tray Wade, president and CEO of EveryStep. “Our more than 400 employees and hundreds of volunteers work tirelessly to ensure our patients and clients are receive the best care possible. This honor is a direct reflection of our employees, who truly make our organization what it is.”

Since 1908, EveryStep has offered care and resources for infants, children, young mothers, immigrants and refugees, families and aging Iowans in 47 counties through more than 30 programs.

Earlier this year, the organization recognized the dedication and sacrifice of its employees, and put their needs to the forefront, announcing the implementation of a $15/hour minimum wage. The change, which coincided with the United Way of Central Iowa’s efforts to increase the number of Iowans who are financially stable, increased wages as much as nearly $4/hour for some employees, and impact 14 types of roles within the EveryStep organization.

Last year, the organization underwent a rebrand, bringing its countless programs together under one name. While the organization is now known as EveryStep, its services, programs, and employees remain the same. In fact, EveryStep’s nearly 400 employees provided critical healthcare and social services to more than 65,000 Iowans across the southern half of the state. The non-profit has 14 locations, including multiple, locally staffed teams for its hospice care, home care, and grief and loss services programs.
