About this event

This session discusses the challenges queer and transgender folks face and what students can do to be a better advocate for students across the gender and sexuality spectrums.

(2 hours)

Attendance: We ask that if you cannot attend the majority of a session (at least 1 hour and 45 minutes, i.e. would arrive more than 15 minutes late or leave more than 15 minutes early), you cancel and reschedule to a different date and time.

Devices: we prefer individuals limit device usage to note taking so plan to bring a device if that is how you prefer to take notes. Pen and paper are always welcome for note taking

PowerPoints/handouts: Any relevant materials will be available via Canvas after your presentation (and can be made available before if needed)

Certificates: you will receive a certificate of completion electronically and can select to receive a printout

Diversity and Disability Statement: Our institution values diversity and inclusion; we are committed to a climate of mutual respect and full participation. Our goal is to create learning environments that are usable, equitable, inclusive and welcoming. If there are aspects of the instruction or design of this program that result in barriers to your inclusion or accurate assessment or achievement, such as inaccessible web content or the use of non-captioned videos— please notify the instructor as soon as possible. Disabled students are also welcome to contact the disability resource center (DRC) to discuss a range of options to removing barriers in the course, including accommodations at DisabilitySupport@unco.edu or 970-351-2289.

Before registering for this UNITE workshop, all participants need to complete the Equity & Inclusion Foundations Workshop through Canvas. Participants of UNITE can register for any other UNITE workshop after completion of Equity & Inclusion Foundations. Once you register for a workshop, you'll receive an email with the Zoom information to join the virtual workshop.

Need accommodations? We have disability resources. If there may be barriers to accessing any UNITE programming and you would like to request disability accommodations, please let us know!
