Description

Open to ALL Rutgers - Newark Graduate Students!!!!

The "Careers Beyond Academia" event is a Question and Answer panel organized by Ph.D students in the Neuroscience and Psychology Graduate Programs at Rutgers - Newark. This event is produced with the help of the Rutgers - Newark Graduate Student Government Association (GSGA) and is open to all Rutgers graduate students. We hold this event in order to give the graduate student body at Rutgers - Newark a taste of life outside of the ivory tower in order to prepare for the workforce after we earn our graduate diplomas.

This event is an informal opportunity to ask questions from folks who come from a graduate background similar to yours and who have gone on on to build careers working at thriving buisinesses.

This year's panel will include a free lunch where students will be able to break away and network with the invited speakers.

Our attending spreakers include:

Alexandra Margevich from Apex for Youth (Organization serving Asian and immigrant youth in NYC)

Morgan Taylor Ph.D. from Insight Data Science (Fellowship program for PhDs and MDs leading to a career in health data science)

Isabelle Dancy, Ph.D. from Novartis Inc. (Pharmaceutical Corporation)

Guillermo L. Lehmann, M.D., Ph.D. from Regeneron Inc. (Pharmaceutical Corporation)

Vardhan Dani, Ph.D. from Inscopix (Biotechnology for Research Applications - mini microscopes for circuit neuroscience)
