  • Carbon storage licensing continues to advance in Europe and the United States. Norway has recently opened licensing auctions for two new North Sea tracts, while commercial awards are still in negotiation from the September 2023 round in Texas. Although other governments have yet to advance formal storage licensing mechanisms, several countries are developing various policies and regulations critical to CCS project advancement.
