Expansif, sincère et libre, Damien Demaiter avant d'établir son atelier dans les hauts de france a su dès le plus jeune âge que la peinture serait "ses mots", que sa liberté d'expression passerait par la toile d'un châssis ou le papier d'une feuille. Soutenu par un professeur atypique, il saisira très vite les subtiles nuances de l'expression graphique et plastique. Convaincu par ce "langage" plus que tout autre, il fera ses classes à l'école Renoir de Paris quittant le nid familial dès son adolescence, pour y tracer un chemin de rencontres, d'expériences et d'émotions qui le marqueront. Avant d'élaborer un vocabulaire artistique original et organique, alliant minutie graphique d'entrelacs de dentelles, de ponctuations et abstraction plastique de formes et chocs chromatiques, Damien Demaiter a longtemps dialogué avec toutes les techniques graphiques apprises à l'école supérieure d'arts appliqués et textile, pour en revenir à des méthodes plus instinctives, mêlant un temps abstraction, typographisme et symbolisme, l'artiste a su se libérer pour axer son œuvre sur une sincérité désarmée, une vision fusionnant chocs et évasion. Après des rencontres inattendues, éclectiques et fécondes, l'artiste intuitif, inspiré et prolifique se met en permanence en quête de nouvelles vibrations pour enrichir son chemin et toujours partager, communiquer, échanger.

Effusive, sincere and free, from his earliest years - long before establishing his studio in the Hauts-de-France - Damien Demaiter knew that painting would come to constitute "his words", that his freedom of expression would be transmitted through the canvas on a frame or the surface of a sheet of art paper. Supported by an unusual teacher, he very soon grasped the subtle nuances of graphic and visual expression. Convinced by this "language" more than any other, he went on to take classes at the École Renoir in Paris, flying the family nest as a teenager to forge a path of encounters, experiences and emotions which were to leave a lasting mark on him. Before developing a unique and organic artistic vocabulary, combining the graphic precision of lace traceries, of punctuations and the visual abstraction of chromatic forms and shocks,  Damien Demaiter long dialogued with all the graphic techniques gleaned at the Higher School of Applied and Textile Arts, eventually returning to more instinctive methods. For a time blending abstraction, typography and symbolism, the artist successfully liberated himself to focus his work on a disarming sincerity, a vision fusing shocks with escape. After unexpected, eclectic and fertile encounters, this intuitive, inspired and prolific artist is constantly in pursuit of new vibrations to enrich his path, and seeking always to share, communicate and converse.
