My Story

Born of Puerto Rican parents, raised in public housing, inspired by powerful Latinas, Debbie brings a passion and authenticity to her message.

As a high achieving Latina Social Worker, Debbie is too familiar with the grind that leads to burnout.

Coaching helped her to sharpen her emotional intelligence (EQ) tools to more effectively navigate life and leadership.

Nearly 30 years of experience in social service and education settings, Debbie realized that these systems are designed to take advantage of altruism. She learned the hard way that loving what you do does not require sacrificing your well-being.

She developed a GREAT perspective which outlines how to show up your best.

Debbie met many high achievers, especially BIPOC Women, in the field of social service and education, that struggle to give themselves the psychological permission to strive for balance and prioritize joy.

Debbie committed to sharing her story to embolden others.

In 2023, Debbie featured as a contributing author to the fourth volume of Hispanic Stars Rising. A must read for all of us who feel proud of our heritage and aim to celebrate one another.

Children’s Author

Debbie is also the self-published author of three beautifully illustrated children’s books: A Walk with Cooper, A Game with Cooper, and A Visit with Cooper. These books are inspired by two loves: reading aloud to children and the love of her fur baby Cooper. Through her books, Debbie hopes to bring joy to children and contribute to Latinx representation in publishing. Since the release of her first book she has visited a number of schools to conduct read alouds, presented on self-publishing, and interviewed for podcasts and magazines such as #Common_Cents Web Talk Leadership in Readership, VoyageMIA magazine, Shoutout HTX and CanvasRebel.
