Tidelands Health Pawleys Family YMCA

More programming. More locations. More ways to improve your health and wellness. The YMCA of Coastal Carolina and Tidelands Health are joining forces through an innovative partnership that will benefit members of the Y and our entire community. Beginning Oct. 1, Tidelands Health will become the exclusive health system partner of YMCA of Coastal Carolina, including Claire Chapin Epps Family YMCA in Myrtle Beach, the to-be-renamed Tidelands Health Georgetown Family YMCA and all future Y locations in Georgetown and Horry counties. In addition, the YMCA will assume management of Tidelands HealthPoint Center for Health and Fitness, which will be renamed Tideland Health Pawleys Family YMCA. Through the new partnership, current members of the Y and Tidelands HealthPoint will gain enhanced access to a variety of health and wellness services and programming. Our entire region will benefit through new opportunities for the Y and Tidelands Health, two of the community’s leading health and wellness advocates, to work together on a range of issues from childhood obesity to cancer survivorship. Current YMCA members

Existing Y members will enjoy a variety of benefits through the new partnership between the Y and Tidelands Health, including:

  • Access to the new Tidelands Health Pawleys Family YMCA. The 40,000-square-foot facility features state-of-the-art exercise equipment, an indoor track, an indoor lap pool, a warm water exercise pool, a sauna, basketball and racquetball courts and much more.
  • New on-site health education programming at Y locations provided by the experts at Tidelands Health.

Again, these changes will become effective on Oct. 1. In the meantime, please check back here regularly for updates, and thank you for being a valued member of the Y!

Will I get a new card?

Beginning October 1, when you visit the Tidelands Health Pawleys Family YMCA, you will check in at our membership desk, take a photo, and receive your new membership card.

Will hours remain the same?

Our hours will remain:

  • Monday – Friday | 5:30 AM – 8 PM

  • Sunday | 12 PM – 5 PM

If I am currently a member of Tidelands HealthPoint, will I need to pay a join fee for the Y?

No. You will not need to pay a join fee. Your membership will transfer over.

Who will qualify for the senior rate?

The YMCA offers discounted rates for individual senior adults and senior couples. You can view our rates here

Will my rates change if I am a Super Senior (age 80+)?

Members in the Super Senior category (Single or Couple) will transition to Senior (Individual age 65+) or Senior Couple (2 adults residing in the same household, with at least one age 65+) with the accompanying rates.  As with all memberships, we never want price to be a barrier to pursuing a healthy life style. If the membership rates are not affordable, we will encourage you to talk with us about financial assistance.  Super Senior members that have paid in full will not be impacted by rate changes until their time of renewal. You can view our rates here.

Will Tidelands Health employees receive a discount?

Yes!  Tidelands Health employees qualify for a 20% discount on all membership rates. Employees can choose a branch or select a membership to access all three!

Does the YMCA offer financial assistance?

Through our Financial Assistance Program, the YMCA of Coastal Carolina supports youth, adults, and families based on individual needs and circumstances. Learn more

Does the YMCA accept SilverSneakers, Silver&Fit, or Renew Active participants?

At this time, the YMCA only partners with Renew Active and Silver&Fit.
After years of negotiations, we have decided that continuing our partnership with SilverSneakers is not in our best interest due to the group fitness class restrictions and low monthly reimbursement rates per member.

I prepaid my membership. Will I have any additional fees?

Your membership will continue as usual, and any adjustments will be made when renewed.

Will the Tidelands Health Pawleys Family YMCA offer more classes and times?

Yes!  We hope to add additional classes soon. Please be patient as we transition, but know that more classes, programs and activities
will be coming.

Are the rates changing for Personal Training or Day Spa services?

No, not at this time.

When will the YMCA Swim Team begin practicing in Pawleys Island?

Soon! We are working on the final details and plan to have registration go live on Monday, September 19th.  Learn more about the Hurricanes Swim Team.

  • When more than one swimmer is present, swimmers must circle swim, counterclockwise. Split lane is optional.
  • Be respectful of others. Lap swim lanes are intended for those who wish to swim using any stroke that will not impede another swimmer.  Water walkers will be asked to use the free swim space if lap lane space is congested.
  • Be courteous and responsive if asked to move lanes by a lifeguard. Lifeguards have final say in lane placement if an issue arises.
  • Advanced reservations are strongly encouraged, but not required. You will be able to make reservations on our website.
