Chief Richard Calabrese was appointed Chief on February 4, 2019 and is the 6th Chief of Police in Cinnaminson's history. Chief Calabrese is a wartime veteran after serving in the United States Marine Corps between 1989-1993. He started his law enforcement career in January 2000 with the Camden County Park Police and then moved on to the Bridgeton City Police Department. Chief Calabrese joined the Cinnaminson Township Police Department in October 2004 where he spent 8 years as a Detective specializing as a Computer Forensic Investigator before being promoted to the rank of Sergeant in February 2015. He was then promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in August 2017 where he was assigned as the Internal Affairs Commander and was named the Department’s Officer-In-Charge on August 22, 2017.

Chief Calabrese earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Individualized Studies and a Master’s Degree in Administrative Science both from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is a graduate of the FBI’s Law Enforcement Executive Development Mid-Atlantic Training held at Princeton University, a graduate of the Rutgers University Certified Public Manager Program, and a graduate of the New Jersey State Chiefs of Police Command and Leadership Program. In 2021, Chief Calabrese graduated from the School of Police Staff and Command (SPSC) at Northwestern University Center for Public Safety. Chief Calabrese is also a New Jersey State Chiefs of Police Accredited Command Executive.
