The first panel of this series explored the complexities and nuances of supporting psychedelic preparation and integration. Psychedelic states present a challenge for clinicians and other healing practitioners because of the atypical, expansive, and unpredictable nature of the psychedelic process. Also important is to consider the socio-cultural climates and conditions of oppression that each person exists within and how these factors might influence individual needs. We reviewed how to assess this impact and how this might be addressed in the integration process. This panel also reviewed techniques, strategies, and encouraged practices used within psychedelic integration while also acknowledging that the clinical setting must be done in conjunction with other modes of community support. Psychedelic harm reduction was covered as a crucial aspect of supporting people through these experiences.
